Green Office Book Club |
We are excited to re-open up the sign-up for the Green Office Book Club for the new academic year! It is a great way to meet like-minded people and discover some interesting books and perspectives, as we are reading some of your favorite sustainability-related books together and discuss relevant issues in relation to them.
We choose our books from a list of suggestions that we are regularly updating based on your input. We vote in the group chat on the most popular book choice and meet around every 6 weeks at the Green Office to have a small discussion over some tea and cookies, provided by us, of course. The books we read are anything from non-fiction to classical literature to fantasy, as long as they have a connection to sustainability and/or the environment. So, feel free to suggest anything you would find interesting or that has been on your Goodreads list for a while ;)
The book club works on a voluntary basis, so you can opt in to read a book whenever it fits your schedule and you are interested in the current title. So if you feel like you will be busy during a particular month or are not too keen on the book we are reading, you are free to pause your participation as well. This way, we hope that we can accommodate everyone's wishes and time schedules to make it possible for all of you to participate. We have some interesting collaborations with other Utrecht-based organisations planned, so stay tuned!
Books will have to be purchased on your own accord but we have some recommendations on where to purchase sustainably. If you are interested in preparing some discussion material or questions for our get togethers, you can feel free to volunteer for one of the sessions via the group chat.
